Castles of Switzerland

Digital Paintings

Fine Art

zig zag identity element

I've always been captivated by the architecture of Swiss castles. Simple shapes and plain surfaces of the walls and towers are carefully disturbed by delicate ornaments, usually spread over the rooftop.

Tiles in two or three different colors are arranged in meticulous patterns, giving personality to the entire structure.

I found myself compelled to experiment with these elements in my art. Starting by replicating the rooftop geometry, proceeding with the large areas of complementary colors, I would finish introducing playful, curvy lines to seamlessly merge all elements together. Although the process can be tedious at times, I find the end result to be quite rewarding.

The elegance of these castles isn't pretentious; it's discreet, yet incredibly enchanting.

Now I'm offering signed prints on museum quality paper accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. This series will continue, as there are plenty of castles in Switzerland to inspire a lifetime of paintings.
